Introduction à l'écriture
L'écriture japonaise dérive directement de l'écriture chinoise.
En Chine, les caractères (sinogrammes) représentent une idée, une chose, un mot et sont appelés les Hànzì 汉字. Au Japon, ce sont les Kanji 漢字 :
- 字 signifie caractère.
- 汉 et 漢 signifient "Han", en référence à l'empire Han. Il s'agit du même sinogramme mais sous sa forme simplifiée chinoise (汉) et sa forme traditionnelle (漢).La spécificité du Japonais est l'existence de trois systèmes d'écriture :
- les kanji, empruntés à l'écriture chinoise.
- les kana, syllabaires propres à l'écriture japonaise, dérivés de formes simplifiées et cursives de certains kanji. Ils servent notamment à écrire la grammaire japonaise, fondamentalement différente du chinois.Il existe deux formes de kana :
- les hiragana pour écrire les mots d'origine japonaise et le grammaire.
- les katakana, principalement utilisés pour les mots d'origine étrangère.
